After securing the much-needed victory over Akwa United in the rescheduled Match Day 10 of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), the technical adviser of Rivers United, Stanley Eguma, stated that the team would now focus on the next two league matches against the third-placed Doma United FC and Rangers International FC.
Sadiq Abubakar of Rivers United FC scored twice on Tuesday, securing maximum points for the Pride of Rivers against the Promise Keepers.
Eguma emphasized the significance of every point and stressed that the players must maintain the right mentality to achieve favorable results.
"We expect to win almost every game because the league has reached a stage where every point counts, and we don't have to rely on home games.
"In the past, we've lost some points at home, and we expect to recover those points on the road.
"The players must show the right mentality to help us demonstrate that these matches against Doma United and Rangers are crucial for gaining points.
"We are not going there to participate but with the mindset that the points are very important, and we need to see how we can secure some of them," he said.
