Basking in the euphoria of his hat-trick in the last league match, Rivers United FC's goal poacher, Nyima Nwagua, restated the club's commitment to a successful outing ahead of the clash with Academica Lobito.
Rivers United forward Nyima Nwagua revealed that the team is now focused on their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
The Pride of Rivers will travel to Angola to take on Academica Petroleos de Lobito in a Match Day four encounter on Sunday.
Stanley Eguma’s side recorded an impressive 3-0 win against the same opponent at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in November.
Rivers United currently occupies the third position in Group C with six points.
Nwagua believes the team has no excuses but to qualify for the next round of the competition.
“Right now, the team is focused on the task ahead in Angola,” he said. “We have to build on the performance in the league because we will have no excuse than to get it right in Angola.”
Club Africain and Dreams FC top Group C with nine points each.
Academica Petroleos de Lobito is languishing at the bottom of the table with no points.
