2023/2024 NPFL Match Day 31: Rivers United FC ends Rangers International FC's winning streak in Port Harcourt

CAF Confederation Cup returnee, Rivers United FC, on Sunday ended Rangers International FC's fairy tale run in the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with a 2-0 victory at the Adokiye Aniesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.


This is the second loss that the Flying Antelopes will be experiencing after the rescheduled NPFL Match Day 11 loss to Rivers United FC. The Flying Antelopes also tasted defeat during Match Day 29 against Katsina United.


However, Rivers United FC dented Rangers International's title push after thrashing the Flying Antelopes 2-0 with goals from Alex Oyowah and Deputy Echeta.


Oyowah made it 1-0 in the 34th minute of play as he headed in a looping cross from Kazie Enyinnaya.


Rivers United then made it 2-0 in the 82nd minute as Alex Oyowah's excellent solo run was completed with Deputy Echeta slotting in from close range.
