2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 18: "To be or not To be" Rivers United aims at sit-tight on NPFL log amidst Lafia battle

Rivers United faces a unique and uphill task in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 18, as they take on relegation-threatened Nasarawa United FC in an away battle.


In previous encounters, Lafia Township Stadium has been a tricky venue for the Pride of Rivers, with only one point earned in past visits.


For the team coached by Finidi George, this away battle against Nasarawa United will be crucial in determining whether they can retain their position at the top of the NPFL log, or if they will lose their stronghold to Remo Stars FC, who have been closing in on them since the start of the season.

The Solid Miners will be fresh for this tie, having had their match with Enyimba last weekend postponed due to Enyimba’s CAF Confederation Cup fixture in Maputo.


Rivers United, for their part, labored to a 2-1 win over Kwara United in Port Harcourt last weekend, but the desire to remain at the apex of the table should fuel them to secure an away victory.
