Resilient Lobi Stars FC zooms back to NPFL summit after victory over Heartland FC

Resilient Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi have once again asserted their dominance, reclaiming the top position on the table with a decisive 1-0 victory over the struggling Heartland International FC on Match Day 21 of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).


The lone goal that secured the win came from the foot of Kumaga Suur, who found the back of the net in the 68th minute. This goal further deepened the challenges for the hapless Heartland International FC, which has been unable to secure a victory in their last two games since the commencement of the league's second stanza.


The match concluded with a one-nil scoreline in favor of Lobi Stars at the Lafia Township Stadium. With this victory, Lobi Stars now stand at 39 points, establishing a 3-point lead over Remo Stars. Notably, Remo Stars' Day-22 fixture against Rivers United in Ikenne-Remo was temporarily halted by the NPFL, creating a pause in their pursuit of Lobi Stars.
