Posted : 20 June 2023
According to a source familiar with the negotiations, Al Ittihad is preparing to make a bid for Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-Min. The opening offer is expected to be around €60 million ($65 million) with additional bonuses.
Several top clubs from Saudi Arabia have expressed interest in signing Premier League stars this summer, and Son is the latest player to be targeted.
The source revealed that Son has received a four-year contract offer worth €30 million per season. There is cautious optimism within Al Ittihad that the 30-year-old may be enticed to join the club. Al Ittihad is currently finalizing a deal to sign Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante and has already secured the services of former Real Madrid star Karim Benzema.
Son's current contract with Tottenham is set to expire in 2025, and he is a vital player for the club. Since his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, he has scored an impressive 145 goals in 371 appearances.
However, new Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou is already facing the challenge of retaining striker Harry Kane, who is attracting interest from Real Madrid, Manchester United, and potentially Paris Saint-Germain.
