On Wednesday, Real Madrid officially announced the completion of the signing of English midfielder Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
The 19-year-old Bellingham has signed a six-year contract with Real Madrid and is set to be introduced to the media during his official presentation on Thursday.
Earlier this month, Dortmund confirmed that they had agreed on an initial transfer deal worth €103 million with the LaLiga giants to secure the talented teenager's services.
In a statement, Bellingham expressed his gratitude to everyone at Dortmund and the fans for their support over the past three years. He described it as an honor to have worn their jersey in various significant and memorable moments.
Real Madrid, led by manager Carlo Ancelotti, triumphed over competition from Manchester City, as well as previous interest from Liverpool, in securing the signing of Bellingham, who is widely regarded as one of the most promising talents in European football.
During his time in Germany, Bellingham showcased his abilities and emerged as one of the Bundesliga's top players. This season, he made 31 league appearances, scored eight goals, and even captained the team on occasion.
Bellingham also played a prominent role for the England national team in the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar, starting in all five of their matches.
Real Madrid has consistently pursued a strategy of recruiting emerging talents in recent years, with the likes of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, Federico Valverde, and Camavinga now established as key players in the first team.
