Real Madrid 1-1 Athletic Bilbao: Karim Benzema scored Real Madrid's farewell goal to end 14-year tenure

Real Madrid drew their final La Liga match of the season at home against Athletic Bilbao, with Karim Benzema celebrating his farewell appearance with a goal.
The 35-year-old, who is second on the team's all-time scoring list, converted from the spot after Eder Militao was brought down in the penalty area.
Before Benzema's rumoured move to Saudi Arabia, Real Madrid announced on Sunday that his 14-year tenure at the Bernabeu had come to an end.
The visitors had already been struck in the front from close range by Oihan Sancet.
Rodrygo wasted Real's best chance to win the game late on, diverting Vinicius Jr's low cross over the bar from inside the six-yard box.
The spot-kick by Benzema, which was pushed into the centre of the goal, brought a fitting end to a remarkable career in Spain that includes five Champions Leagues and four La Liga crowns. Benzema played a primarily supporting role during his final game.
In the 74th minute, Luka Modric came in to replace the France striker, who had just received a standing ovation from the home fans.
Eden Hazard, a former Chelsea striker who was an unused substitute before leaving on June 30, did not make a farewell appearance, though.
The season ends with Real Madrid finishing second in the standings to champion Barcelona.
