Posted : 06 October 2023
Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Rangers International FC on Thursday announced that its former Vice Captain, Ugochukwu had undergone a successful surgery.

The former assistant captain of the ‘Flying Antelopes’, Ugwuoke, had the knee surgery to help him get back to competitive football actions with the seven-time Nigeria League champions.

The Flying Antelopes' Public Relation Officer Norbert Okolie said that the surgery lasted nearly five hours at a private health facility in Enugu with over nine medical personnel on ground seeing to the success of the surgery.

An elated Ugwuoke who is also known as Kandish by his teaming fans was full of joy and praise to the club’s G.M/CEO, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku for keeping his promise of making him go through the surgeon’s knife to correct the injury that has kept him out of the beautiful game he enjoys so much.

“I thank God for the success of this surgery and also thank Rangers G.M, for keeping to his promise of having me play quality football again as I have my sight still on helping Rangers win trophies both within and outside Nigeria.

``I also thank the government of Enugu state for giving the full support to the management of Rangers to help go through this surgery,” stated the mercurial midfielder.

Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, G.M/CEO of Rangers, after the successful surgery, said the club would be happy to have Ugwuoke back to the squad.

“We can’t wait to have Ugochukwu Ugwuoke fully back into the squad. He is a bundle of talent and cannot be allowed to waste. To God be all the glory,'' he said.
