Rangers Int'l FC Asst. capt Ugwuoke leaves hospital after successful knee injury

Posted : 28 October 2023
Rangers' versatile midfielder, Ugochukwu Ugwuoke, has been discharged from a private medical facility in Enugu, where he underwent knee surgery to address an injury that sidelined him for nearly two seasons.

Ugwuoke, who exited the facility with the assistance of crutches, underwent a successful knee operation three weeks ago and was given the green light by the lead surgeon to return home.

Ugwuoke will be closely monitored during the rehabilitation period.

A visibly relieved Ugwuoke expressed his deep gratitude to the management of Rangers International F.C. for their unwavering support and true professionalism in aiding his recovery from the injury.

"I am immensely grateful for the concern and the display of love shown by the Rangers' management throughout this ordeal, which has deprived me of significant career opportunities.

"Thank God, the surgery was successful, and I am confident that I will make a swift return. I would also like to thank my fans for their prayers and those who visited me during my hospital stay. Your support means a lot to me," he stated.

Ugwuoke, fondly known as Kandish, previously served as the vice-captain of the Flying Antelopes before suffering the life-altering injury in 2021.
