Rafael Leao seals a new five-year contract with AC Milan forward

Rafael Leao has extended his commitment to AC Milan by five years, through the summer of 2028.
 
Since his previous contract at the San Siro was set to end in 2024, the 23-year-old international from Portugal had frequently been linked with Chelsea.
 
Leao joined the seven-time European winners in 2019 after moving from Lille, and he has scored 41 goals in 162 games.
 
He helped Milan win their first Scudetto since 2011 and was voted Serie A player of the year the previous season.
 
He has been an important contributor to Stefano Pioli's squad this year as they have finished in the top four and advanced to the Champions League semi-finals, where they were defeated by Inter.
 
Leao also travelled to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup finals as a member of the Portugal team that advanced to the quarterfinal round.
