PSV Eindhoven Stun Juventus in Extra Time to Reach Champions League Last 16

PSV Eindhoven secured a dramatic 3-1 extra-time victory over Juventus, overturning their first-leg deficit to claim a 4-3 aggregate win and advance to the Champions League last 16. The Dutch champions started aggressively but were unable to break down Juventus' defense in a goalless first half.

 

Their persistence paid off in the second half when Noa Lang set up Ivan Perisic for a stunning equalizer, but Juventus responded through Timothy Weah’s long-range strike. PSV, however, kept pressing, and Ismael Saibari capitalized on a goalmouth scramble to send the match into extra time.

 

With the tie level, PSV had several near misses before finally finding the breakthrough in the first period of extra time. Ryan Flamingo punished a defensive lapse from Juventus, tapping in from close range to give the Dutch side the lead for the first time. Juventus pushed forward in desperation, with Dusan Vlahovic striking the post, but the hosts held firm.

 

In the tense final minutes, PSV withstood heavy pressure to complete a memorable comeback in front of their home crowd. Their resolute defense ensured Juventus could not find a way back, sealing a hard-fought win that sends them into the last 16, where they will face either Arsenal or Inter Milan.
