Paris Saint-Germain’s Sporting Director, Luís Campos, has addressed the speculation regarding the club's interest in Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker from Napoli. Recent reports had suggested that PSG, seeking a replacement for Kylian Mbappé following his move to Real Madrid, was considering bringing Osimhen back to France.
In an interview with Sport Italia correspondent Tancredi Palmeri, Campos refuted these claims. He clarified that PSG never made an official offer for the Super Eagles forward, despite the widespread rumors.
Campos stated clearly, “PSG never made an offer to Napoli for Osimhen.” When asked about the possibility of a last-minute bid from Napoli before the transfer deadline, Campos simply commented, “That’s the market,” reflecting the often unpredictable nature of transfer negotiations.
Osimhen’s transfer situation had been quite complex, involving negotiations between his current club, potential suitors, and his own representatives. Despite the flurry of activity, a deal could not be finalized with PSG.
Ultimately, Turkish club Galatasaray showed interest and secured Osimhen on a season-long loan from Napoli. As part of the agreement, Galatasaray will pay 70% of his annual salary, with Napoli covering the remaining 30%, which is a more favorable arrangement than what was reportedly offered by Chelsea.
Osimhen recently joined his new team, completing his first training session with Galatasaray. He is set to make his debut when they play against Rizespor at RAMS Park, and he will be looking to make a strong impression in his new environment.
With his move finalized, Osimhen is now focused on contributing to Galatasaray’s success and making the most of his season-long stint in Turkey.
