As different clubs map out programmes and strategies for the next Nigeria National League (NNL), season, Madiba FC, Chairman, Basirat Adeyemi has revealed her expectations under the new leadership.
A new NNL board led by George Aluo was in July handed the mantle by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to run the affairs of the league for the next two years.
Adeyemi whose club had their first stint in the league last season, revealed her desire for a more robust season.
For the upcoming season, she said, "we are expecting a different ball game entirely."
Adeyemi who is one of the few women running a football club in the country emphasised the importance of securing sponsorship for the second-tier championship which is the source of talents for the elite Premier League.
She said having sponsors would reduce the cost of operating in the league, especially for privately-owned clubs.
"The NNL should consider the privately-owned club and I expect NNL to have a sponsor."
She further advised that, "matches should be broadcast and live-streamed so as to enhance marketing of players. I think this will bring a lot of improvement to the league and be more competitive with NPL."
