Potential departure: Folarin Balogun's uncertain future at Arsenal
Posted : 29 April 2023
Folarin Balogun, the England U21 international of Nigerian heritage, remains linked with a summer departure from Arsenal's Emirates Stadium.
The Hale End Academy graduate was loaned to Stade de Reims last August, delivering an impressive performance with 18 goals in 31 Ligue 1 appearances, placing him among the league's top scorers.
The Daily Mail's online edition reports that Balogun's success at Reims could lead to his departure from Arsenal, as manager Mikel Arteta seeks funds for new signings.
Despite Balogun expressing his desire for regular playing time upon returning to Arsenal, competition from Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, and Leandro Trossard poses a challenge.
RB Leipzig, AC Milan, and Marseille are monitoring Balogun's situation, with Arsenal valuing him at around 40 million euros.
Balogun has approximately two years remaining on his contract with Arsenal.
