Porto manager Sérgio Conceição is uncertain about Zaidu Sanusi's availability for the upcoming UEFA Champions League clash against Barcelona at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. Zaidu, a Super Eagles left-back, joined the team in Catalonia, having previously missed a domestic match due to injury.
Although Zaidu participated in part of Porto's final training session before the Barcelona trip, Conceição emphasized that his playing time in the Spanish encounter is not guaranteed. The manager hinted at making a last-minute decision based on Zaidu's fitness.
Conceição specifically mentioned monitoring both Zaidu and Pepe's readiness, stating that their first training session with the team took place on the day before the match. The manager stressed the importance of each passing hour in determining the players' contributions on the field.
Porto is eager to secure their fourteenth qualification for the Champions League knockout rounds. Zaidu Sanusi has started two out of the four matches played by the two-time European champions in this season's competition.
