Despite Chelsea's goal-shy assault failing once more, Liverpool managed to escape with a point in the 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge.

The matchup between the Premier League's two biggest underachievers this season was appropriately forgettable, but the Blues will be perplexed as to how they failed to win after blowing many opportunities and having two goals annulled.

After VAR reviews, Reece James and Kai Havertz were both rejected, and Havertz and Mateo Kovacic missed excellent opportunities to give interim manager Bruno Saltor a successful start to his tenure.

While the outcome is an improvement over Saturday's hammering at Manchester City, Liverpool produced very nothing, and they depart having made little real progress in the battle for the top four.
