Plateau Utd announces Fidelis Ilechukwu's replacement

Ahead of the Nigeria Premier League NPL, the management of 2017 NPFL Champions of Plateau United Football Club of Jos has unveiled a new Technical Adviser for the team and Chief Coach.

The NPL side unveiled former Rangers International of Enugu Chief Coach, Mbwas Mangut and Patrick Mancha who qualified Plateau United back to the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL in 2016. 

The duo were unveiled at an elaborate ceremony held at the Club House in Jos.

Speaking at the occasion, Habila Hosea Mutla said management decided to start from home by bringing in the two coaches who have contributed immensely to the development of the team and the game. 

Mutla explained that Plateau State has produced some of the best coaches in the country, that is why his management deems it fit to start from home by appointing the two indigenous coaches who also played for the team in the past.

``The efforts of coaches who have led the team to success both in Nigeria and the continent. But as management, we decided to come down home.

``After a careful study of our coaches, we settled for Mbwas and Patrick who have contributed to the success of the team in the past" Habila said. 

The Permanent Secretary, Plateau State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Rotmwa Konga congratulated the new General Manager of the Club and his assistant on their recent appointments and assured of the Ministry's support and collaboration to enable them succeed.

The Permanent Secretary urged the newly unveiled Coaches to do their work diligently and faithfully knowingly full well that they will give account of their deeds before God. 

The new Technical Adviser of the team, Coach Mbwas Mangut thanked the management for finding him and his assistant worthy to tinker assuring them that they will do their best for the success of the team. 

He thereafter solicited the support and cooperation of all and sundry to enable them succeed assuring that they will work hard to sustain the team.

The two coaches signed a three year contract which ends in 2026.

The well attended occasion attracted Members of the Plateau Football Coaches Association, Plateau Referees Council, members of the Sports Writers Association, SWAN and other critical stakeholders.

The two coaches are expected to resume duties immediately.
