2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 1: Plateau United walks on a familiar terrain in season's opener against Katsina United FC

After a fairly decent league campaign in the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, Plateau United will begin their 2024/2025 season with a familiar opponent in Katsina United FC.


Mbwas Mangut will need to elevate his game ahead of the clash against the Changi Boys, who will be arriving at Jos International Stadium with full confidence, knowing the terrain quite well.


Plateau United’s Technical Adviser, Mangut, has stated his target for the new season is to win the NPFL title.

 


His team finished the 2023/24 season in fifth place with 58 points, and he has urged his players to be prepared for the upcoming challenges while promising equal opportunities for all.


In his address to the players for the upcoming season, Mangut emphasized the need to avoid past mistakes and maintain a clear focus on their goals.


“Last season, we fell short of our goals due to a few mistakes, and we must avoid repeating those errors,” Mangut stated.


“Our focus for the new season is clear: we’re aiming for the NPFL title, not just second place.”


Mangut also highlighted the importance of discipline and effort, ensuring that every player will have the chance to contribute to the team.


“Obey all the codes and give your best on the field, and everyone will have a role in the team. Rest assured, every player will have the chance to contribute.”
