The 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 22 took place at the Awka Township Stadium after Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri received an NPFL management ban due to a poor pitch.
The visitors, the Peace Boys, made their mark early with two goals in the first half. Defender Olawale Doyeni opened the scoring in the 14th minute, followed by Agbor Lawrence, who netted the second at the 20th minute.
Ace midfielder Agbor Lawrence continued the onslaught with the third goal in the 47th minute, also receiving a yellow card. Forward Makalala Victor contributed to the dominant performance with a goal in the 89th minute, extending the lead to 4-0.
In the dying moments of the game, another Peace Boys defender, Harrison Ebah, sealed the victory with the fifth goal in the 94th minute. Heartland International FC's forward, Onyekachi Okafor, managed to salvage a consolatory goal for his team in the 95th minute.
