Plateau United FC denies fake online reports on recruitment of players

The management of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Plateau United FC, has debunked a purported online scam claiming that the club is recruiting new players through trials.  


The Peace Boys warned members of the public to disregard such trials, as they did not originate from the club.  


The club stated: “It has come to the attention of Plateau United Football Club management that a certain group has circulated an invitation to the public regarding opportunities to join Plateau United Football Club via trials or any other means.  


“The post requests details such as name, age, and playing position.  


“This serves as an official statement refuting these claims as false and condemnable, with the potential to swindle unsuspecting individuals of their hard-earned money.  


“Apart from our men's team, we have youth and women's teams with trial opportunities opened to the public at appropriate times, without any fee attached.  


“We have launched an investigation to uncover the source of this scam, apprehend those responsible, and apply punitive measures in accordance with the law.  


“Once again, we emphasize that we have no knowledge of this development and strongly advise the public to avoid any dealings with the said organization,” the management stated.
