2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 26: Plateau United FC aims to bounce back against Bayelsa United after Ikorodu City FC hiatus

While Plateau United FC has not been convincing in the ongoing 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), the team has continued to enjoy unwavering support from its owners, the Plateau State government, despite its struggles.


The Peace Boys, ahead of their 2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 26 fixture against the Prosperity Boys, will need to shake off their disappointment in Lagos and properly focus on Ladan Bosso’s side.


For Match Day 26, Plateau United will be hoping to get revenge for their 1-0 loss in the reverse fixture against Bayelsa United.


The Peace Boys will go all out for three points to remain in the safe zone, while Ladan Bosso’s side from the South-South region will aim to at least secure a point to consolidate their position on the log.


Bayelsa United's Technical Adviser, Bosso, has stated that his team is gradually improving after a difficult start to the campaign.


The Restoration Boys narrowly escaped relegation on the final day of last season.


The Yenagoa-based club is once again fighting to maintain its top-flight status in the 2024/2025 NPFL season.


Bayelsa United currently occupies 15th position on the log after 25 games.


Bosso claimed that the former Federation Cup champions are overcoming their initial struggles and will continue to improve.


“I think the boys are beginning to assimilate the new philosophy,” he stated.


“You know, sometimes it takes players a bit of time to adapt to new playing methods. I think that was part of our initial challenge.


Then, of course, there’s the issue of injuries to some key players. But if you ask me, things are getting better, except that we need to improve our finishing.”

Since 2023, Plateau United and Bayelsa United FC have played three matches, with Plateau United winning one and none ending in a draw.
