Pep Guardiola has acknowledged that he is questioning his own management after Manchester City suffered another defeat, this time to Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday. The 2-0 loss in Turin marked City’s seventh defeat in their last 10 matches across all competitions, putting their qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League in serious jeopardy.
When asked by reporters whether he was doubting himself, Guardiola responded affirmatively, stating, "Yeah, of course." He added that he consistently questions himself during both good and bad periods, emphasizing that his ability to stay grounded in tough times is key. He noted that his biggest challenge as a manager is to continue producing results and securing his position to keep working.
Manchester City’s current form has them precariously placed, with just one point separating them from the bottom 12 spots, which would lead to elimination from the Champions League. They are five points behind the top eight positions, which would guarantee advancement to the last 16, with crucial upcoming matches against Paris Saint-Germain and Club Brugge still to be played.
Guardiola’s team faces local rivals Manchester United this Sunday in the Premier League, where they are currently trailing league leaders Liverpool by eight points. The pressure is mounting on the City boss as he strives to turn things around both domestically and in Europe.
