Pep Guardiola praised Postecoglou's appointment as first Australian manager in Premier League

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has expressed admiration for Ange Postecoglou's historic appointment as Tottenham Hotspur's manager in the Premier League.
Postecoglou, who becomes the first Australian to lead a team in the English top flight, will assume his role on July 1.
Guardiola and Postecoglou previously encountered each other in 2019 when Postecoglou was managing Yokohama F. Marinos, and despite City's victory in a friendly match, the Japanese club displayed an impressive 58% possession.
"Another exceptional manager is coming," Guardiola told reporters
"I was lucky to meet him in Tokyo years ago when he was manager at Yokohama, one of our clubs in the City Football Group, and it was an interesting chat.
"I have a good relationship with the owner of Celtic. He did an incredible job [at Celtic] and he will do an incredible job for Spurs.
"Hopefully, we can score one goal away."
Guardiola's recent remark highlighted Manchester City's struggles in winning matches at London Stadium, particularly against a defensively oriented Tottenham team.
However, based on their previous encounter in the 2019 friendly, where Postecoglou's Yokohama F. Marinos displayed an attacking and possession-based style of play, it suggests that Postecoglou will bring a different approach to Tottenham and not adopt a defensive strategy.
