Enyimba midfielder Akanni Elijah has commended his teammates for showing the fighting spirit to secure a draw in a rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 17 encounter against Plateau United.
The People's Elephant held Plateau United to a scoreless draw at the New Jos Stadium on Thursday.
Elijah, who started the game, praised the team for their resilience, determination, and commitment, noting that the spirit is back with the team.
"I feel the spirit is back with the team, that's all I have to say. Thank you."
The defending champions are winless in eight consecutive matches across all competitions, which marks their longest winless run in 20 years.
Enyimba are in 11th position on the log with 23 points, having three outstanding matches.
Yemi Olarenwaju's side will be aiming to end the streak when they take on Bendel Insurance in Aba on Tuesday, 31st December 2024, in Matchday 19 of the NPFL.
