Osimhen's camp clashes with Napoli chief over valuation
Posted : 12 July 2023
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis's recent remarks regarding the valuation of Victor Osimhen have sparked tension between his camp and the striker's representative, Roberto Calenda.
De Laurentiis's statement that he would only entertain a bid of £170 million for Osimhen did not sit well with Calenda, leading to the disagreement over the player's worth.
Furthermore, the 74-year-old Napoli chief expressed his belief that only Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) could afford the services of the Serie A top scorer from the previous season, effectively ruling out potential interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
As it stands, Napoli seems determined to retain their prized striker, which has prompted other clubs interested in Osimhen to explore alternative options.
However, with the transfer window still open for over a month, the situation could potentially change, especially if Kylian Mbappe departs PSG.
Meanwhile, discussions regarding a long-term contract between Napoli and Osimhen are ongoing, as both parties aim to reach an agreement on the terms of the new deal.
The outcome of these negotiations will ultimately determine the striker's future with the Serie A champions.
