"Osimhen won't fix all of Naples' issues" The Legend of Inter Milan
Posted : 20 April 2023
Beppe Bergomi, a former player for Inter Milan, thinks that Napoli may suffer without Kim Min-Jae and Zambo Anguissa, even though Victor Osimhen of the Super Eagles is back.
In March, Osimhen was hurt while representing Nigeria overseas. He missed the Partenopeans' first three games following the start of club football as a result of the setback.
Napoli won one game and lost two during his absence. Two of those defeats came at the hands of AC Milan. In Serie A, Napoli suffered a 4-0 defeat against the Rossoneri. Then they lost the first leg of their match in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League by a score of 1-0.
Osimhen, though, made a comeback in Napoli's 0-0 draw with Hellas Verona on Sunday. The 20 minutes the Nigerian striker spent on the field saw him come close to scoring, but the woodwork saved him.
When Napoli hosts AC Milan at the Diego Maradona for their tie's second leg, the 24-year-old point guard is anticipated to captain the line.
Two of Luciano Spalletti's most important players would be absent, though. Zambo Anguissa and Kim Min-Jae are both suspended because of the tie. Spalletti would need to come up with other options.
“Napoli is well structured regardless of the center forward.
“Definitely, having Osimhen gives you a sense of security, but you can’t think that it will solve all your problems.
“Napoli have two very important absences with Milan because they lack the two most physical players. Physicality has always been a problem for Napoli, this year they tried to make up for it, but in the past, they suffered.
“Milan are a team that takes you a lot from a physical point of view, on the individual duel and marking,” Bergomi said.
