Osimhen's new deal won't deter Chelsea, says transfer expert

Super Eagles striker Victor James Osimhen is close to extending his contract with Napoli for an additional year, following a stellar season with twenty-six league goals that contributed to Napoli's Scudetto win.


Chelsea, under manager Mauricio Pochettino, has long been interested in Osimhen, but Napoli has resisted any potential move.


Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reveals progress in contract renewal discussions between Napoli and Osimhen, suggesting an imminent announcement. Despite the extension, Romano notes that Chelsea's pursuit may continue, as the new contract could feature a release clause, rumored to be around €130 million.


If Chelsea decides to activate the reported €130 million release clause, Osimhen would become the most expensive African player in history.
