Osimhen gifts his Napoli jersey to Nigerian business mogul

Posted : 04 July 2023
Super Eagles center-forward, Victor Osimhen, took some time off from his well-deserved holiday following a successful season with Napoli to pay a visit to Tony Elumelu, a renowned Nigerian philanthropist and a prominent figure in the business world.

With transfer rumors swirling around Osimhen, linking him to top clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain, his visit to Elumelu adds an intriguing dimension to his off-season activities.

Osimhen, who recently made a nostalgic trip back to his old neighborhood in the Olusosun area of Lagos State, also enjoyed the vibrant nightlife of Lagos alongside fellow Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho, in the previous month.

However, his latest social media update featured a picture of him visiting Tony Elumelu's residence, accompanied by the caption "A man of honor," showcasing his respect and admiration for the influential businessman.

Tony Elumelu, widely known as the chairman of Heirs Holdings, United Bank for Africa Plc, and Transcorp Nigeria Plc, expressed his pride in Osimhen's accomplishments with Napoli, including their Scudetto triumph.

Elumelu took to Twitter to convey his support, and Osimhen reciprocated the gesture by responding with gratitude in a quote to Elumelu's tweet, demonstrating the mutual appreciation and admiration between the two.

Standing at an impressive height of 6 feet 1 inch, the talented striker recently discussed in an interview how his success with Napoli has fueled his desire for more trophies, highlighting his newfound addiction to winning.

Unsurprisingly, Osimhen has become a prime target for several top European clubs throughout the summer transfer window.

However, any club hoping to secure the services of the prolific striker must be prepared to meet Napoli's substantial asking price, as they are reportedly unwilling to entertain offers below 150 million euros.

As the transfer saga continues to unfold and Osimhen's future hangs in the balance, his visit to Tony Elumelu adds a compelling chapter to the narrative, creating intrigue and speculation among football enthusiasts eager to see where the highly sought-after striker will ultimately land.
