It was an exciting game and a display of great football artistry at the ongoing Opo Football Scouting Program at Ikenne Stadium, Remo, Ogun State, where Beyond Limits overpowered a stubborn Best Talent FC 2-0.
The Nigeria National League side (NNL) leveraged their experience in the league as they dominated the game from the blast of the whistle. This dominance resulted in a penalty for the homers in the 7th minute, while the second goal came in the 14th minute with the Mowe giants losing their guard while trying to pull back an equalizing goal.
The quick response from the Best Talent teenagers helped stabilize the game, taking control away from Beyond Limits in their own yard.
This nearly paid off in the 23rd minute, but Best Talent missed quick chances that came their way and lost another opportunity to reduce the margin in the 45th minute of the game.
The game was 25 minutes per half, and the two teams maximized the opportunity to their full potential.
Speaking with the Head Coach of Best Talent FC shortly after the game, Coach Yinka Popoola, popularly known as Gullit, said: "This is an exciting game and a learning curve for my boys.
"We only paraded players within the ages of 17-19 as requested by the organizers of the Scouting Program.
"You can see it's just a 50-minute game, and the two teams played to their potential."
Coach Gullit added: "The two quick goals conceded were too early for us, and I believe it's a lesson learned. We will try to correct it tomorrow when we face Box to Box." He concluded.
Best Talent FC will book a date with Box to Box at the Ikenne Stadium, Ogun State.
