The stage is set for an electrifying conclusion to the Osun Intercollegiate Games 2024, as the OAU Sports Complex in Ile-Ife braces for a spectacular final day on Wednesday, December 4th.
Dignitaries, athletes, and fans are eagerly anticipating a day of thrilling sports, entertainment, and cultural displays, marking the culmination of a two-week-long celebration of youth talent and sporting excellence.

The prestigious event, according to the organizers, will be graced by notable personalities, including the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, who will bring his royal presence and blessings to the occasion.
Governor Ademola Adeleke, known for his support of youth development and sports, will also be in attendance, alongside the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Wale Egbedun, the Commissioner for Education, Permanent Secretaries from the Ministries of Sports and Education, and other distinguished guests.
The final day kicks off at 9:00 am with high-energy athletics events, featuring the 200m sprints for both female and male categories.
The competition is expected to be fierce as athletes from various institutions vie for the top spot on the podium.
The football matches promise to be a highlight of the day.
The 3rd place finals will see OAU Giantess of Ile-Ife face off against Inter-Link, Moro, in the female category at 9:30 am, followed by a male showdown between Polytechnic Ire and University of Ilesa at 11:00 am.
The grand finals begin at 12:45 pm with Fed. Poly Ede battling UNIOSUN in the female category, accompanied by music from the talented D’Switch.
The male final, set for 2:00 pm, features OSCOTECH Esa-Oke taking on Fed. Poly Ede, in what promises to be a thrilling contest.
A colorful institution parade will add a touch of pageantry at 12:30 pm, with music by Perry with the Vibe.
The halftime entertainment will include high-octane relay races and a tug-of-war finale between Fountain University and the University of Ilesa, showcasing strength and determination.
The day will culminate in a grand closing ceremony at 4:00 pm, with medals, certificates, and trophies awarded to outstanding athletes and teams.
The event will close with remarks from Olafiranye Olayiwola, Team Lead of Ace Sports, organizers of the Osun Intercollegiate Games, leaving attendees with lasting memories of a truly historic day.
