Onome Ebi has emphasized that she continues to serve as the captain of Nigeria's women's national team, the Super Falcons. The 40-year-old defender, renowned for being the sole African player (regardless of gender) to participate in six FIFA World Cup editions, recently found her name absent from the list of players selected by the team's interim coach, Justin Madugu, for the last two Super Falcons games since her return to the NWFL. She stated, "Whoever the coach selects for the Super Falcons at this time is the best for the team; all I can say is that I am fully committed to my team, and I remain the team captain." She added, "Whether I am on the field or not, I support them, and I trust that the current players can contribute effectively."
Onome Ebi, who leads Naija Ratels, affirmed her continued dedication to the team, expressing belief in them despite the recent defeat against Dannaz Ladies in NWFL Matchday Two.
