Ondo FA recalls Sunshine Stars, Queens, team managers

Posted : 26 July 2024

The Executive Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), Bamidele Ologunloluwa, has approved the reinstatement of Seun Betiku, the former Sunshine Stars team manager. This move comes as part of a broader effort to stabilize and strengthen the management teams of both the Sunshine Stars and Sunshine Queens football clubs. Ologunloluwa's decision reflects a commitment to leveraging experienced personnel to enhance the clubs' operational and competitive capacities.

In addition to Betiku's reinstatement, the ODSFA board has also reinstated Kehinde Odogun as the team manager of Sunshine Queens FC. Odogun previously served as the welfare officer for Sunshine Stars, and his return to a managerial position underscores the board's confidence in his abilities to contribute positively to the team's administration and overall success. Alongside Odogun, AbdulRahman Abdulsalam has been reinstated to his former role, reinforcing the agency's strategy of restoring experienced staff to critical positions within the clubs.

Moreover, Femi Atolagbe, the media officer for Sunshine Queens FC, has been promoted to the role of media officer for Sunshine Stars FC. This promotion signifies a recognition of Atolagbe's dedication and effective communication skills. Despite his new responsibilities with Sunshine Stars, Atolagbe will continue to oversee media activities for Sunshine Queens, ensuring a consistent and coordinated media strategy across both teams.

Ologunloluwa emphasized the importance of maintaining media continuity for Sunshine Queens while expanding Atolagbe's role to include Sunshine Stars. This dual responsibility highlights the trust placed in Atolagbe's capability to manage media relations and enhance the visibility and reputation of both clubs. The chairman's remarks indicate a strategic approach to media management, aiming to leverage Atolagbe's expertise for broader impact.

The official appointment letters state that these engagements take immediate effect. This prompt implementation aims to quickly stabilize the teams' management structures and prepare them for upcoming challenges. By swiftly reinstating experienced managers and promoting key personnel, the ODSFA is demonstrating a proactive approach to fortifying its football operations.

It's worth noting that Seun Betiku and Kehinde Odogun were previously redeployed to manage the Sunshine Stars U-17 team. Their reassignment to senior roles suggests that their interim positions were part of a larger plan to develop their managerial skills further before reintroducing them to higher responsibilities. Abdulsalam AbdulRahman, who had been disengaged by the previous management, also makes a return, indicating a shift in the agency's strategy under new leadership.

These reinstatements and promotions reflect a broader strategy by the ODSFA to stabilize and enhance the management teams of Sunshine Stars and Sunshine Queens. By reinstating experienced personnel and promoting dedicated staff, the agency aims to ensure a solid administrative foundation, which is crucial for the success and growth of the football clubs under its purview.
