St Johnstone is on the verge of securing the signing of Oludare Olufunwa, a talented English-born Nigerian defender who was recently released by Liverpool.
The club's manager, Steven MacLean, confirmed the impending arrival of two new signings, including Olufunwa and Northern Ireland international Sam McClelland, as they look to bolster their defensive ranks.
Olufunwa, who spent eleven years at the Southampton academy before joining Liverpool last year, has trained with Burton Albion and is now set to make the move to St Johnstone.
Although he is yet to make his senior debut, he has experience playing against Men's teams in Papa Johns Trophy matches.
Offering versatility as a center-back and right-back, Olufunwa looks to follow in the footsteps of notable Nigerian player Efe Ambrose, who also featured for St Johnstone in the past.
