All is now set for the New Year Mega Lottery Nationwide League One Super 8 competition, which will feature teams from the nation’s third-tier league and is scheduled to take place in the nation's capital, Abuja.
The New Year Mega Lottery Nationwide League One Super 8 competition, designed to determine the overall winner of the third-tier league, will see 8 teams from across Nigeria compete for the coveted prize: a brand-new 18-seater bus worth N30 million.

Kogi United FC topped the Kotangora center in April this year but narrowly missed out on promotion to the NNL after losing a penalty shootout to Yoca Crocodile of Kaduna following a pulsating 2-2 draw at the Bwari Township Stadium.
The Super 8 competition, scheduled to take place at the Bwari Township Stadium a week before the annual Christmas yuletide, will determine who takes home the grand prize: an 18-seater bus. The competition features 8 teams drawn from both the North and South of the country, grouped into two groups, A and B.
Kogi United FC will begin their Super 8 campaign in Group A against Ojodu FC on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the Bwari Township Stadium.
The team manager of the club, Tijani Ibrahim, has urged the players to prove their mettle and give their maximum effort to return the club to its glory days.
"As we set our sights on returning the club to the Nigeria National League, preparations are in full swing, and the team is scheduled to travel to Bwari, Abuja, on Sunday, December 15."
Kogi United FC will battle Ojodu City FC, Family Worship Centre, and De-Sapele Lions FC in Group A. Group B will see FC Ebedei, Police Barreta FC, Ibom Youths FC, and City Sports FC competing for the top spot.
Meanwhile, the players and technical crew, led by Coach Chidi Oji, have been putting the finishing touches and fine-tuning preparations ahead of the crucial trip to the nation's capital.
