NYG 2023: Team Kano girls rugby team picks first qualification ticket

Team Kano girls Rugby team has pickes the ticket to feature at the 2023  edition of the National Youths Games, NYG slated for  Asaba Delta state capital in September .

The Kano Rugby Girls side got the ticket,  following the confirmation that they were the sole team from the north west zone that entered for the  zonal qualifiers in their event.

The fully kitted girls from the ancient city of Kano were sighted , Sunday at the main bowl  of Ahmadu Bello stadium set for action.

The announcement of their qualification triggered off celebrations in the camp of the Kano  contingent to the zonal elimination taking place in Kaduna.

Kano state Rugby coach, Mr Bau told this reporter that they are delighted with the pick.

He said they were glad to be the first Kano side to pick an NYG  qualification ticket.

He added that they would return back home to step up preparations for the games in Asaba.

He expressed the confidence that the girls and the technical crew  will continue to work  hard to fulfil  their dreams to return home to Kano decorated in  gold.
