The management of Nigeria's foremost women's football advocates, the Naija Women Football Awards (NWFLA), has set out to honor exceptional NWFL Premiership players with awards ranging from Player of the Week to Player of the Month.
The CEO of the Naija Women Football League Awards, Abolore AbdulRahmon, attributes the purpose of the awards to encouraging players in the indigenous league and recognizing their efforts in the game.
He reveals that the awards have specified juries tasked with choosing the most deserving player from a set of nominees that will emerge after every match day.
"The purpose of this award is to encourage football players in our league to do more and also recognize their hard work.
"This season, we will be concentrating on awarding players and coaches who deserve it, and we have our set of juries responsible for choosing the most deserving players.
"This award will run every week and monthly until the end of the season."
The NWFL Premiership season is set to kick off on November 14 at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ekiti, featuring newly promoted Ekiti Queens and defending champions, Delta Queens.
The Naija Women Football League Awards have been operational since 2018, where different players and coaches have emerged as winners.
