NWFL Super 6 Play off: Bayelsa Queens book finals slot

As Bayelsa Queens booked their place in the final of the Super Six playoffs in Asaba, the Honourable commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Bayelsa State, Champion Daniel Igali lauded them for the feat achieved towards retaining their title.
Defending champions, Bayelsa Queens defeated arc rivals, Rivers Angels 1-0 in the semi-finals courtesy of a penalty goal from Edet, after Flourish was brought down in the box to set up a final with host, Delta Queens on Sunday by 4pm, at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
Igali in a statement issued on Saturday, commended the winning attitude of the team while singling out their resilience despite late pressure from their opponent.
Igali also applauded the supportive role the state government, led by Governor Douye Diri and his deputy Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, have played, stressing that they have shown unwavering resolve in motivating the various state athletes.
Equally, Igali urged Bayelsans to travel in their numbers to Asaba to give their beloved Bayelsa Queens the needed support once again to emerge champions of the Nigeria Women Football League with the view of representing the country in the CAF Women's Champions League.
