NWFL sets date for 2024/2025 premiership Kick Off

The Nigeria Women Football League 2024/2025 season might begin on January 8, 2025, with the Premiership.


According to a source in the NWFL, the women’s league could resume in the elite division on the year’s first weekend after seven months. The 2023/2024 season ended with the Super Six in Bayelsa, which was won by Edo Queens.

“The NWFL is doing everything to ensure that the NWFL Premiership returns with the new season by the first weekend of 2025. Teams are being kept informed, with this tentative date to be confirmed during the AGM.”


The tentative January 8 resumption of the NWFL Premiership will kickstart the 2024/2025 women’s football league season in the country, which includes the NWFL Championship and NWFL Nationwide League.


The Annual General Meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in the nation’s capital, Abuja. The secretariat is making final preparations for the AGM, which will set the ball rolling for the effective start of the new season.
