After an intense battle in the Oriental Derby between Abia Warriors and Enyimba, resulting in a 2-2 draw, both coaches have admitted that their attention will now focus on Heartland of Owerri and Rangers of Enugu as their next opponents.
Coach Joe King Akuma noted that fatigue affected the strength of his players, emphasizing that the upcoming match against Rangers on Friday at 11 am will be tough for Enyimba.
However, Rangers' Coach Basil Obeta said his strategies worked well as they defeated the hard-fighting Heartland 1-0.
Coach Obeta declared that Rangers will face each opponent fearlessly.
Meanwhile, Coach Emenike Ezeugo of Abia Warriors said he has learned from his mistakes and will correct them when Abia Warriors take on Heartland FC at 9 am this Friday.
"I learned from my mistakes, witnessing Enyimba coming from behind twice to level up to a 2-2 draw. This will not repeat itself against Heartland or Rangers."
Rangers are currently topping the NPFL Under 17 South East Zone after Matchday 1 with 3 points, leaving Abia Warriors and Enyimba in 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively, sharing a 2-2 draw, each with 1 point, as Heartland will go for broke to pick up their first point.
