The management of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has revealed plans for the introduction of a Youth League {U-19}.
In a directive, the NPFL has informed all the clubs that the Youth Football League is part of their effort to improve football capacity throughout the country.
In a letter sent to various NPFL clubs, signed by the league body, it was stated that during the upcoming mid-season break, the NPFL will be introducing a youth under-19 league that will be divided into six zones across the country.
The goal and dream are to expose talent and identification, which means the plan seeks to identify and nurture young talents early, ensuring a sustainable pipeline of players for both club and national teams.
Additionally, to improve consistency and quality, the plan establishes consistent standards for coaching, facilities, and player welfare across all Premier League academies.
