After a total of 108 of 110 matches concluded in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2023/24 season, Remo Stars forward Sikiru Alimi and Robert Christian Mizode of Bayelsa United are joint-top scorers with nine goals each.
Mizo, as he is popularly called by Bayelsa United fans, narrowly missed out on the golden boot last season to Enyimba's Emeka Mbaoma.
In other statistics released by the NPFL Competitions Department, 79 wins have been recorded, with 73 victories by home teams, six wins away from home, and 29 draws.
The season has so far seen a total of 215 goals scored, an average of over two goals per match. Of these, 151 goals were scored by home teams and 64 by visiting teams.
Referees have awarded a total of 16 penalties, of which 12 were converted and four missed. Seven own goals have been scored out of the 215 total goals.
In the course of the 108 matches, a total of 407 yellow cards have been issued by referees, and 11 players have been sent off.
After Matchday 11 games, during which Rivers United missed two due to international club competition fixtures, Remo Stars lead the league table with 22 points, 17 goals scored, and nine goals conceded, giving them a plus eight goal difference. The Ikenne side have also proven to be the most prolific, with 17 goals scored.
With only five goals conceded so far, Doma United and Bendel Insurance boast the best defensive records. On the other hand, Bayelsa United has the worst defence, conceding 20 goals.
