NPFL Match Day 4: Katsina United diminish Lobi Stars

Katsina United FC walloped Lobi Stars FC 3-0 on Sunday, compounding the woes of the Alia Boys, who remain winless in their last four games.


The 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 4, played at the Mohammed Dikko Stadium in Katsina, saw the Changi Boys on a rampage, scoring three unanswered goals.


It was a reversal of fortunes for the Alia Boys, who won all their home matches in the first quarter of last season but have now fallen into a losing streak during the second stanza of the league.


Lobi Stars have yet to record a single win this season, starting with a 0-0 home draw against Akwa United, followed by a 0-1 loss to Rivers United, and a 1-2 loss to Enyimba International FC.


In NPFL Match Day 4, the Changi Boys opened the scoring in the 22nd minute as Falolu Azeez converted from the penalty spot.


Katsina United FC added a second goal through Nafizi Yahaya in the 47th minute, while forward Ahmed Abdultaofik scored the final goal of the day in the 82nd minute.
