NPFL Match Day 18: El-Kanemi surrenders to Plateau Utd in Maiduguri

El-kanemi Warriors on Sunday in Maiduguri, had a 2-2 draw against visiting former NPFL winners Plateau United FC in the last match of the 2022/2023 Abridged Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

El-kanemi of Maiduguri however got relegated from the Group A without a fight. 

The visitors, Plateau United FC only played for an honour having edged out of the equation to qualify for the Super 6, but nothwistanding put up a fight to earn a 2-2 draw.

Before the last NPFL matches, Plateau Utd are on the fifth position with 25 points, four points away from the fourth based Akwa United who also seeks qualifications for the last slot of Super 6.

The draw away in Maiduguri means Plateau United finished the season with 26 points from 18 matches with seven wins, five draws and six losses.
