NPFL Match Day 16: Bayelsa United edge past Sunshine Stars FC

Ayiba Edwin of Bayelsa United scored first in the 58th minute before sunshine stars Achi Nnaemeka pulled an equalizer two minutes later in a testy Nigeria Professional
Football League (NPFL) Match Day 16 Imo Ikemdinachi scored an own goal in the 88th minute to seal the maximum of 3 points for the home team.

Sunshine Stars tried hard in the first 45 minutes but couldn’t convert a few scoring chances because of the heavy downpour at the match venue.

Edith Agoye threw Jide Jimoh onto the pitch to replace Vincent Temitope in the 78th minute, when the score was 1-1. In the 77th minute, Samson Olasupo was introduced as he replaced Lucky Gyang.

Bayelsa United would have scored a second goal in the 80th minute, but Mafeng Pam cleared off the line.

In the 88th minute, Gomo Onduku’s free kick, less than 70 seconds after his introduction, was deflected in to seal the win for Bayelsa United. Cletus Emotan, however, replaces Mafeng Pam in the 89th minute.
