NPFL Match Day 14: Sunshine Stars FC Coach, Agoye rues missed chances against Abia warriors

Sunshine Stars FC Technical Adviser, Edith Agoye on Monday rued his team's lack of killer instinct in front of goals as he watched his side slumped to a 1-2 defeat to Abia Warriors in Aba.
Agoye queried why his team failed to convert the begging chances it had which resulted to a loss to the home team.
" It's not the result we wanted but that's football for you , that's gone , we put it behind us and fight another day"
Two goals in three minutes was all Abia Warriors needed to earn maximum points against visiting Sunshine Stars FC at the Umuahia township stadium
The Match Day 14 tie which started under a heavy downpour affected free flow of passes in the early minutes of the encounter.
In the 20th minutes, Abia warriors had the chance to convert but missed narrowly following a block by Udom Ekerette, the resulting free kick was however not utilized
The first 45 minutes of the encounter produced less clear cut chances as the half ended goalless.
On resumption into the second half Sunshine stars increased the tempo but warriors defence were tactical in defending
Lucky Gyang however pulled a strike from 23 yards in the 62nd minutes but Abia warriors goalkeeper parried for a corner kick , resulting kick by Cletus Emotan was however cleared off danger .
Agoye however made tactical substitution in the 69th minutes when Michael Olalusi replaces Cletus Emotan Eba.
Abia Warriors however got the opener in the 73rd minutes when Sunshine Stars defenders failed to clear in the vital area from a corner kick
Three minutes later, the host scored the second goal in the 76th to throw the technical bench of Abia warriors into jubilation
Agoye however made changes in the dying minutes to change the result, this time Pam Mafeng replacing Emeka Isaac.
Sunshine stars consolation came via an own goal in the 86th minutes
Samson Olasupo and John Chukwudi however replaced lucky Emmanuel and ogechukwu Emmanuel respectively
In the 90th minutes the host had another glaring chance to increase the goal tally but Mustafa Lawal denied the warriors as the match ended 2-1 in favour of Abia warriors
Sunshine stars next match comes up this weekend against Lobi Stars of Markurdi at the Akure township stadium.
