The NPFL has granted provisional approval to Abia Warriors FC to return to Umuahia Township Stadium for their home matches.
In a circular to the club, the Chief Operating Officer of the League Body, Davidson Owumi, said this follows the observed recent improvements in the condition of the playing turf at Umuahia Township Stadium.
The Nigeria Premier Football League, however, reiterated that the provisional clearance will be subject to periodic review during the ongoing season to ensure that the NPFL standard minimum requirement is maintained and/or improved.
Abia Warriors were put on notice that the present structural state of facilities at the stadium cannot receive approval to host any NPFL matches in the next season.
They were further advised to carry out extensive improvements on all components of the stadium, including the spectator terraces, changing rooms, television camera stands, and the general look and feel of the environment to be more broadcast-friendly.
"Abia Warriors must take these stated conditions seriously as they form an important part of Club Licensing requirements that must be met to become eligible to play in the NPFL," Owumi said.
