The Secretary of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) board, Barrister Ibrahim Danladi, announced a significant 5-year exclusive broadcast partnership deal with a cable TV network. This deal grants exclusive rights to the broadcaster for the next two seasons, as revealed by Barrister Danladi on Wednesday.
As the Board Chairman of the National Institute for Sports, Barrister Danladi explained that the TV station will broadcast four live NPFL games per week for the next two years. However, he emphasized that the board retains the flexibility to explore agreements with other broadcasters in the future.
Responding to a statement from Alhaji Ahmed Gara-Gombe, a former chairman of the Gombe State Football Association, who claimed to have pursued an $11 million deal for the NPFL, Barrister Danladi clarified that the NPFL board did not receive any such proposal from Gara-Gombe. He expressed the board's openness to proposals that could enhance the league's coverage.
In conclusion, Barrister Danladi underscored the commitment of the current NPFL board to ongoing improvements in the league. He emphasized that the board remains proactive and dedicated to advancing the NPFL, rejecting complacency in the pursuit of continuous enhancements.
