NPFL announces rescheduled Rivers United, Akwa United tie again

The Nigeria Premier Football League has rescheduled the Matchday 18 fixture involving Rivers United FC and Akwa United FC.


The encounter was originally set for the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Sunday, January 14, 2024.


The game will now take place on Tuesday, January 16, at the same venue.


The encounter is scheduled to kick off at 4 pm.


The Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, said that the league regretted any inconvenience the change in date might have caused both teams.


Rivers United suffered a 3-2 defeat against Plateau United in their rescheduled Matchday 10 fixture on Wednesday in Jos.


While Akwa United moved out of the relegation zone following a 1-0 home win against Abia Warriors last weekend.
