Nottingham Forest has initiated the process of acquiring Wilfred Ndidi, the Super Eagles midfielder.
Fabrizio Romano, a well-known transfer expert, revealed that the Premier League team has submitted their initial bid to Leicester City for the Nigerian international's services.
Despite securing Andrey Santos on loan from Chelsea, manager Steve Cooper aims to strengthen his midfield options, with Ndidi identified as a potential addition.
As Ndidi's contract with Leicester City enters its final year, a departure from the King Power Stadium before the transfer window's closure is a possibility.
Alongside Nottingham Forest, the 26-year-old has drawn interest from Liverpool and German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
There are reports that Liverpool is considering Ndidi as an alternative to Crystal Palace's Cheick Doucoure.
Despite the ongoing uncertainty, Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca has included Ndidi in the starting lineup for four out of six games played this season, and Ndidi's performances, including his recent two-goal contribution in the EFL Cup victory over Tranmere Rovers, have showcased his value to the team.
